HDD Broker's People Are Safe But Damage Is Extensive
By Renée Lauzon-Martin - General Manager, HDD Broker LLC - September 29, 2022
Sadly, our HDD Broker office in Bonita Springs, FL was directly in the path of one of the worst Florida storms in history. Hurricane Ian hit us with catastrophic wind and storm surges, and we are still reeling from it. As I write this, we still haven't been able to fully assess the current situation. Thankfully, our people who live in the region are SAFE, and that's what matters most. However, they are without water, power, internet and have limited cell coverage.
Our sales manager, Bill, was hit hardest in Cape Coral, FL where the storm surge flooded up to his attic. My heart breaks when I see pictures of his ruined home, but Bill is handling the situation with his typical poise and humor. He even joked that he hoped some big fat groupers swam into his house!
We don't know the status of our office building, and it's currently too dangerous for anyone to go check on it. Emergency crews are still rescuing stranded people and trying to navigate downed power lines and dangerous debris. We are grateful for their efforts.
Many of you have reached out to us, and we are very grateful. Your thoughts and prayers and offers to help are truly appreciated. We don't know much at this point, and our main concern is keeping our folks safe, and getting power back.
This is a very resilient industry, and the people at HDD Broker Florida are no different. We pride ourselves on having each other's backs, and we will support each other as we rebuild. Our thoughts are also with our Florida neighbors, MTI Equipment, the Vermeer and Ditch Witch dealerships, and the contractors that were in the path of the storm. We will help in any way we can.
Our Canadian office remains open and is taking calls. We are still here to take care of all of your HDD needs!
